Sharing Memories

Getting in touch with old friends can be a great way to share memories and reminisce about times past. Sometimes life moves so fast that it’s hard to keep track of where you came from, and where you end up may be so different form where you started that you begin to feel a little bit lost. This is the time to call the friends of your youth and exchange some memories. Looking back at old times can help you to understand yourself and how you’ve gotten where you are. And who better to help than an old friend?
In the internet age, there are many ways to get in touch with people you’ve know. A lot of people like to connect on facebook, while others may pick the old-fashioned method of e-mail. Still, some venture into unknown territory and pick up a phone and call or even write a letter on paper and send it through the post.

Whichever you choose, contacting a friend you haven’t talked to in ages can be good for the soul. You can have a chance to catch up on their lives and dredge up old memories. Remember that they understand some parts of you that others might not meet at all. Exchanging memories now and then is a good way to take a break from the hectic world and look back on your life. It’s also a good way to keep in touch with friends, since good friends should always remain a part of your life and your heart.

Wonderful Memories

Memories are a wonderful way to bring ourselves back to a beautiful moment. They are the heart of creating and recreating, and they allow us to figure out our lives through the blissful memories we have created throughout youth. However, memories can shadow our lives if we let them. Even happy memories can cast a shadow over our life if we allow them to. When we live in the firm cement of even the happiest memories we restrict our ability to move forward. We can never compare last year’s happy memories with the memories we get to create this year. But holding everyone in your life to such a high standard also pretty much sets them up to fail.

Memories are fantastic until that’s all you have left. Nobody wants to live in the past, especially not when that past is created only by memories. Memories, by the way, are created as we wish to see them not as they really were, can prevent everyone around you from moving on if you hold on to them too tightly. While the trip down memory lane every now and then can be a healthy excursion the chronic trip can be maddening for those around you. When you are too focused on the past you are missing the miracle of what is right in front of you, and everyone around you knows it. Hanging onto beautiful memories is a lovely way to stay connected to something or someone that you have loved dearly, but there is also love to be had today and people who would like your love in the moment, not in yesterday’s shadow.
